Where the Internet Goes to Sleep was featured at the Young LIT Stars Children’s Black Book Fair, held at Hackney Central Library for its second annual celebration.
The fair amplifies the voices of young Black writers and brought together 20 published authors under 18 for an afternoon of interactive reading zones, creative workshops, arts and crafts, storytelling, and performances.
Highlights included:
The fair’s opening by publishing pioneer Eric Huntley (age 94)
Dr Ronx hosting the London Spelling Bee Championship finals
Ramzee, author and illustrator of The Cheat Book, leading an interactive workshop
Michael DeSouza, creator of the iconic Rastamouse, reading from his new book Lil’ Bruv
The event was free to attend, with goodie bags for the first 100 children and a prize draw for book collections worth £100 — a joyful celebration of community, storytelling, and representation.
