Research & Ethics |
Where imagination meets infrastructure.
Why We Exist
We build stories that help children see the systems that shape them.
At ThreadPoint, we believe infrastructure is not just physical — it’s emotional, educational, and deeply social.
From cloud computing to AI, we create tools that help children, especially from underrepresented or neurodivergent backgrounds, understand the invisible systems they live in.
We call this:
“Narrative Infrastructure™
Our way of turning complex technologies into stories young people can hold — and futures they can shape.
Our Research Priorities
We’re currently exploring:
Ethical AI for Children & Communities
How can storytelling support public understanding of algorithms, data, and bias?
Neuroinclusive Education Design
How do we design cognitive-accessible stories that make complexity feel safe, not overwhelming?
Infrastructure as Story
What if data centres, sensors, and digital systems were part of the stories we teach children?
Narrative Infrastructure as a Public Tool
Can story-led education shift how we think about governance, inclusion, and participation?
How We Work
We do this through:
Storybooks
Games
Public storytelling experiences
School-based STEM pilots
Strategic partnerships with technologists and educators
Our approach is gentle, layered, and IP-aware.
We don’t just explain systems — we teach how to see them, feel them, and question them.
The Term “Narrative Infrastructure™”
“Narrative Infrastructure™ is a concept developed by our founder, Willowmina Williams, to describe the underlying layer of meaning, metaphors, and emotional cues that help people make sense of the invisible systems in their world.
We use the term to guide:
Our learning design
Our storytelling structure
Our public engagement methods
It is currently being developed as part of an internal methodology for cognitive-inclusive digital education.
For collaborators, funders, and researchers, a more detailed framework is available upon request.
Collaborate With Us
We welcome collaboration with:
Universities & research institutes
Policy fellows
Think tanks
Technology & infrastructure providers
Foundations working in ethics, education, and equity
We’re especially interested in co-developing:
Story-led frameworks for public engagement
Ethical AI education tools
Neurodivergent-accessible learning systems
