Founders Bio

Willow Williams, Founder - ThreadPoint Studio

It all started when…

I had the absence of a plan as a teen.

I stumbled into the built world without a roadmap—like Bambi on ice: wide-eyed, unsure, but quietly determined to stay upright.

I didn’t grow up knowing what BIM was, or that buildings had data. But I knew how it felt to move through spaces shaped by people I’d never meet—and to wonder how it all came to be.

“Imagination is the beginning of creation.” — George Bernard Shaw

I didn’t see people who looked like me in those spaces, but it didn’t stop me from imagining a place for myself. That imagination, quiet and persistent, became the thread that guided me forward.

Years later, I’ve built a career at the intersection of technology, information, and inclusion. And now, through ThreadPoint, I help others trace their own path through the systems that shape our world.

Willow Williams is a digital strategist, storyteller, and educator working at the intersection of data, technology, and the built environment. She is the Founder of ThreadPoint Studio, a digital learning and storytelling platform reimagining how we introduce infrastructure, AI, and systems thinking to the next generation.

With over a decade of experience in digital construction and information management, Willow has delivered complex programmes across the UK and EMEA. Her background spans BIM, data governance, and digital delivery within both built and mission-critical environments—bringing structure, foresight, and clarity to the systems shaping tomorrow’s world.

She currently works client-side in the data centre sector, leading information strategies at a regional level and supporting long-term, scalable delivery. Willow holds a Master’s in Building Information Modelling (BIM) Management and Integrated Project Delivery.

Her work explores the critical intersection between artificial intelligence and human intelligence — a balance she defines as the ThreadPoint: where the structured systems of the built world meet the fluid realities of how we actually live, learn, and make sense of them. This approach is grounded in principles from neuroscience, systems thinking, and inclusive design..

Willow is also the Founder of ThreadPoint Foundation, a not-for-profit initiative expanding digital literacy through imaginative education. Its story-led programmes are designed to help children understand the invisible systems that shape their world—from cloud infrastructure to city planning—through cognitively inclusive, play-based learning.

As the Global Education Lead for Women in BIM, she champions equity in digital construction, leading efforts to increase access to digital skills and empower underrepresented voices across the built environment.

A published writer and speaker, Willow’s work spans digital transformation, AI ethics, and inclusive innovation. Whether through strategy or storytelling, she is known for translating complexity into clarity—and helping others navigate the future with both confidence and care.

Beyond her professional world, Willow finds joy in tennis, reformer Pilates, long walks in nature, getting lost in a good book, and spending slow afternoons in museums or spaces rich with quiet history.
